Our Mission
The Belleville Roots Music Series has three important missions:
-
To bring a variety of high quality Roots Music to the Newburyport area for all to enjoy.
Our concerts showcase music from a cappella to zydeco including many genres in between such as blues, bluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, country folk, gospel, Irish, jazz and world music.
-
To raise funds to restore and maintain the historic 1867 Belleville Meetinghouse and adjacent Fiske Chapel complex at 300 High Street in Newburyport.
We hope that the Meetinghouse and the nearby complex will continue to serve as gathering places for years to come.
-
To build community through music.
...as stated boldly in the tag line to our logo.

About our Venues
Belleville Roots uses two performance spaces for its concerts, the historic 1867 Meetinghouse and the smaller, more intimate Stage Room in the adjacent Fiske Chapel complex. Both venues are part of Belleville Congregational Church at 300 High Street in Newburyport. The Meetinghouse provides seating for 500 on its main and balcony levels. The smaller Stage Room has a capacity of 250 for dancers (limited seating available) or 175 for seated concerts.
Repairs to the 1867 Meetinghouse will be ongoing for the 2024-2025 season, and all concerts will be held in the Stage Room.
